Somethings just never seem to change do they, especially where the Hatters are concerned.

The short trip to take on Cambridge United, in the group stages of the Vertu Trophy was seen, by many, as the start of a new era, after the sacking of Matt Bloomfield and his backroom staff, on Monday.

Instead, what we saw was just a continuation of the dross served up for the majority of the season with the Hatters crashing to a 3-1 defeat against a Cambridge United side that play their football in the EFL League Two.

Despite making six changes to the side that flopped away to Stevenage, a result that ultimately saw the axe fall on Matt Bloomfield, it was more of the same, no cohesion, no penetration and no real desire.

Even the goal the Hatters scored was scrappy, just like our play, with Mads Andersen on hand to tap in a corner from about three feet out in a goalmouth scramble.
