Earlier this week, news filtered through that Tom Lockyer had been given medical approval to resume his playing career.

Naturally, it was a piece of news that I saw fit to cover, as the following article shows – former-captain-declared-as-being-fit-to-play.

I was also of the opinion that despite being omitted from our squad, when it was announced, there was a possibility that a fit Tom might be given one of the TWO places the Hatters still have vacant in their maximum 21-man squad.

It seems I wasn’t the only Hatter that wanted Tom to be given a new contract, at Kenilworth Road with 74% of those that voted in the associated poll linked to the article agreeing with me.

Sadly, it appears that is not going to be the case.

Tom has, despite our wishes, left Luton Town and has said his goodbye’s.

Unless there is a dramatic change of heart, Tom, who gave so much to the club, will never pull on our shirt again in a competitive match.

Instead, it appears that Tom may well have already decided where his next port of call will be with the – Bristol Post – reporting that Tom has been training...
