Aston Villa defender Victor Lindelöf has insisted he is fit to play 90 minutes, contradicting Sweden’s manager on the matter.

Hallandsposten cover comments from the defender today in which he insists he’s ready to play. That comes after Jon Dahl Tomassson insisted this week that the Aston Villa man couldn’t play 90 minutes.

Lindelöf has had a slow start to the season given he started it as a free agent. He signed for Aston Villa on a free transfer on deadline day.

That comes on the back of being out of the picture at Manchester United, either through injury or not being a part of Ruben Amorim’s plans. It also means this year he’s only played 90 minutes for his country once. That was in the 5-1 win over Northern Ireland back in March.

Thus, Jon Dahl Tomasson was keen to stress that the defender wasn’t ready to play a full match during this international break this week.

But it seems the Aston Villa man disagrees with that. And he argues that he’s actually played in worse conditions during his career anyway.
