Sweden manager Jon Dahl Tomasson has remained coy on whether Aston Villa's Victor Lindelof will start for his country and says the national side are suffering from a "captain's curse".

Lindelof has made three appearances for Villa since his move from Manchester United in the summer, all of which have come from the bench.

The defender has not had the best of injury records in recent times at United which has led to questions surrounding his ability to play a full game for his country.

Sweden face Switzerland this week and Tomasson was asked about the potential of Lindelof's involvement.

But the former Newcastle striker conceded that Lindelof, Alexander Isak and Spurs' Dejan Kulusevski have all had issues.

"We’ll have to wait and see if Victor starts or not," Tomasson told FotbolSkanalen via Sport Witness.

“We have a bit of a captain’s curse. I tried with Lindelöf, he hasn’t always been here due to injuries, and it’s been a bit the same with Alexander Isak.

"Kulu” (Dejan Kulusevski) has also been captain and is now out.”
