Victor Lindelof says he has been "caught in the middle" of a dispute between Sweden boss Jon Dahl Tomasson and ex-Aston Villa goalkeeper Robin Olsen.

Olsen has said he would never play for his country again while Tomasson is in charge after the Dane said he would no longer be his country's number one.

The drama has courted plenty of headlines in Sweden and it has left Villa defender Lindelof in an awkward position as the captain of his country given he is also close friends with Olsen who left B6 last summer.

Olsen now plays for Malmo but his form for the national team was not entirely up to scratch which led Tomasson to make his decision.

And asked about the situation, Lindelof told Sportbladet: "I’ve been caught in the middle a bit.
