Jamie Vardy brought out the back flip to celebrate his first Serie A goal as the Leicester City icon continues to impress in more ways than one.

Vardy gobbled up a rebound to open the scoring in Cremonese’s 1-1 draw with Atalanta on Saturday, netting his maiden goal for his new club in his fourth appearance, and his first competitive strike since his 200th City goal in May.

Overjoyed to get off the mark, Vardy back-flipped in celebration, to the surprise of boss Davide Nicola.

The Cremonese manager spoke highly of Vardy in his post-match press conference, explaining that he needs very little tactical instruction.

“I’m amazed by his somersaults after the goal!” Nicola said, before adding: “Bringing a player of his calibre here is not easy. But Vardy has shown enthusiasm, professionalism and a mentality that makes the difference.

“He loves what he does. He's a professional who clearly has won and played at a high level.
