Odsonne Edouard has hit out at Ruud van Nistelrooy following their disastrous time at Leicester City last season.

Edouard worked with Van Nistelrooy at Leicester last season, having initially joined the Foxes on loan in the summer. Steve Cooper was in charge at that point in time.

The striker was in the picture under Cooper, albeit on a limited basis, with 16 minutes against Bournemouth the most he managed.

Van Nistelrooy was then appointed at the end of November and appeared to quickly decide that Edouard was not a part of his plans. He made the bench once after his arrival, in a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool on Boxing Day. Otherwise, he was left out of the squad entirely, including in the FA Cup.

It means Edouard was forced to watch from the sidelines as Leicester were relegated from the Premier League. His absence was particularly strange as goals were hard to come by for the Foxes. At one point they lost eight consecutive games without scoring a goal.
