Former Everton defender Joleon Lescott thinks Liverpool would happily take a refund on Florian Wirtz if it were offered. The Germany international arrived at Anfield in the summer for a whopping £116million.

Wirtz showed promise in the Community Shield but so far his Premier League performances have been relatively sub-par. The 22-year-old is yet to score a goal or provide an assist in the top flight.

Lescott, who played almost 150 times for the Toffees, thinks that while it is too early to judge Wirtz completely, the Reds would happily have their money back from Bayer Leverkusen were such a hypothetical offer on the table.

"I'm not convinced," said Lescott, speaking on In The Mixer, brought to you by Sky Bet. "If Liverpool could get their money back at the end of the season, they would do it.
