It's 15 years this week since John W Henry stood on the steps of law firm Slaughter and May as the new owner of Liverpool Football Club and declared: "We are here to win and we'll do whatever is necessary."
Fenway Sports Group - who, in October 2010, were known as New England Sports Ventures - had just completed a hostile takeover of a distressed asset that just happened to be one of the biggest names in world sport.
At £300m, it was a purchase that left one half of the detested ownership duo of Tom Hicks and George Gillett bemoaning "an epic swindle", having been ousted in dramatic circumstances across a tumultuous week that just happened to conclude with the Merseyside derby.
