The 2013/14 season could have been a really special campaign for Liverpool but it is remembered for all the wrong reasons.

Rather remarkably, the Reds have only managed to win two Premier League titles since its inception in 1992, even though they have had the talent to win a whole load more.

Pep Guardiola and Manchester City have been the main reason for this in recent years, but they missed out on a great opportunity for another just over a decade ago.

In the season of that infamous Steven Gerrard slip, Liverpool had plenty of opportunities to strengthen their position in the race for the title, but they did not always capitalise.

However, sometimes it really was not their fault at all, and former linesman Derek Eaton has admitted to a huge mistake that may have been one of the reasons they never won it that year.
