This week’s Subway League Cup clash could be a close affair considering both team’s recent form.

Durham have endured a mixed bag of results in the past month with three losses and a draw. The club did get back on track in the league last weekend however with a win against Nottingham Forest.

Their Cup journey got off to a rollercoaster start as Durham drew 1-1 with Sheffield United. With the League Cup format, a penalty shootout was then played for an extra point which Durham lost.

After picking up just one point in their first cup game Durham will be desperate for a win in Group B which is currently led by Liverpool.
