Jeremie Frimpong is yet to make a real impression since his move from Bayer Leverkusen.

The Reds were in desperate need of a right-back when Trent Alexander-Arnold departed, although their options were severely limited.

Frimpong looked like an excellent pick-up, though, with the Dutchman one of the most attacking full-backs for club and country, even playing as a winger for the latter on regular occasions.

Over the international break, right-wing is where he played in the first game before dropping to the bench for the second against Finland after failing to impress.

And despite not even playing, the Dutch media still took a swipe at Liverpool’s new man, showing how things are going from bad to worse.

As an attacking full-back, Frimpong’s job is to still help at both ends of the pitch, but mainly focus on his attacking output and use his pace to get in behind.

At least this is what Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman wants from him, hence why he plays him on the wing rather than in defence.
