Liverpool have been told they lost the Champions League final to AC Milan in 2007 because they were "too show-offy" in their celebrations after beating the Italian side two years earlier. The Reds produced the greatest comeback in European final history by coming from 3-0 down at half-time to draw 3-3 with Milan in Istanbul in 2005 before winning on penalties.

The two teams met again in the Champions League showpiece in 2007 in Athens, only for Milan to this time emerge 2-1 victors during a game in which Liverpool were the better team.

And former Italy international defender Alessandro Nesta, who featured in both matches for Milan, believes the Serie A side had won the second final before the team had even reached the stadium.
