Arne Slot has had some considerable trouble integrating a new hierarchy at left-back for Liverpool this season.

After almost eight years as a virtually guaranteed starter, Andy Robertson has had to make way for Milos Kerkez in the starting XI.

The Hungarian’s arrival also spelt the end of Kostas Tsimikas‘ time with Liverpool – at least for now – with the Greek heading to Roma on loan.

Tsimikas looks to have a new lease of life at Roma, and even scored his first goal for seven years last week for Greece.

Having been an able deputy to Robertson across five years at Anfield, the 29-year-old appears set to remind supporters of why he joined Liverpool in the first place.

While Tsimikas and Roma look a good fit, however, it has been revealed that the left-back could have made a Premier League move this summer, but chose to stay loyal to Liverpool.

One thing that has always been clear about Tsimikas is that he has simply loved being a Liverpool player.

The self-styled ‘Greek Scouser’ fully bought into the club and what it represents, endearing himself to supporters along the way.
