Ibrahima Konate has dominated headlines at Liverpool this season.

He’s always been spoken about by fans and the media, but this term, he’s getting most of his attention due to his poor performances.

Although the Frenchman isn’t solely to blame for Liverpool’s form, a lot of the goals they’ve conceded have come due to the centre-back’s mistakes.

In Liverpool’s last game against Chelsea, the defender was hooked early, with most thinking that it was due to the way he was playing.

Whereas, now that he’s missed a training session with France, it’s clear that it was due to an injury.

Over the years, Konate has missed a fair few games through injury.

Although he’s not been as injury-prone as Joe Gomez, he’s still missed plenty of games, which has left the Reds a bit short-handed at times.

Indeed, Virgil van Dijk has often picked up the pieces and helped cover the Frenchman’s absence, but once the Dutchman leaves, it feels like Konate will be the one to step into that role, if he extends his stay, of course.
