Liverpool have been handed a major update over Marc Guehi's future at Crystal Palace following his failed transfer during the summer. The Reds tried to sign the England international on deadline day only for the move for fall through at the eleventh hour.

A £35million deal between Liverpool and Palace was agreed for Guehi's signature in September, but the move collapsed after the Eagles failed to have a replacement lined up. Instead, Guehi remained at Selhurst park and the Reds chose not to sign an alternative target.

Since the deal fell through, speculation has been swirling about Guehi's future and the possibility of Liverpool still having a chance of signing the central defender. The 25-year-old's contract is still set to expire at the end of the season, meaning he could leave on a free transfer.
