A bus driver claims he was sacked for wearing a Liverpool shirt behind the wheel after he was mobbed by Chelsea fans.

Isaac, who did not provide his full name, was driving a rail replacement bus in the west London area on Saturday night, wearing a white and green Liverpool away shirt.

Chelsea and Liverpool were in action in the evening’s late kick-off at Stamford Bridge with the Blues sealing a dramatic last-minute victory over the Premier League champions, who were condemned to their third straight defeat.

Footage on social media shows Isaac’s bus surrounded by jubilant Chelsea supporters after the 2-1 victory, chanting and banging on the windows as they spot his Liverpool shirt.

The chaotic scenes sparked what his employers described as ‘significant disruption and delays’, leading to his dismissal.
