Marti Cifuentes looks to have added a goalkeeping coach to his Leicester City staff, reuniting with Javier Ortiz.

Sandefjord, Ortiz’s club in Norway, have announced that the 33-year-old is to leave after seven years and link up with City boss Cifuentes again at the King Power Stadium.

Ortiz joined Sandefjord alongside Cifuentes in 2018, and while the manager is on his fourth club since then, the goalkeeping coach had stayed in Norway until now.

This is the second member of staff to join under Cifuentes’ watch, and the first since assistant manager Xavi Calm arrived alongside the manager in July.

Lead academy goalkeeping coach Glyn Thompson has worked with City’s senior goalkeepers over the first couple of months of the campaign.

Now Ortiz will come in to train with Jakub Stolarczyk, Fran Vieites and Asmir Begovic, with the latter five years older than the goalkeeping coach.
