Leicester City’s disastrous 2024/25 season saw the Foxes relegated from the Premier League. Such was the negativity around the club that some expected them to collapse further in the Championship.

After seven games they find themselves in 5th position. Martí Cifuentes will want to make sure they strengthen their push for promotion as the season goes on.

The Spaniard arrived at Leicester City from QPR in the summer. Prior to that the coach had left Spain to manage clubs in Norway, Denmark and then Sweden.

Sandefjord Fotball was the first of those, with Cifuentes there from 2018-2020. The manager has now returned to the Norwegian club to pick up a coach for Leicester City.

In an official statement, Sandefjord Fotball have announced Javier Oritz is moving to the Championship club. He’d been with the Norwegians for seven years and was with Cifuentes during his time there.

As part of their statement, Sandefjord Fotball have wished the goalkeeping coach the best of luck. They even send a message generally to say they hope Leicester City get promoted.
