Officers were called to reports of an affray at Brighton Station in Queens Road at around 1.15pm today, February 8.

It was reported that one man suffered minor injuries.

A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of common assault. He remains in custody at this time, police said.

A second man, 20, was also arrested on suspicion of being a football spectator failing to comply with a football banning order in accordance with the Football Spectators Act 1989.

Officers began patrolling Brighton’s streets on Sunday morning, concentrated in Queens Road and at Brighton Station.

Crystal Palace fans were kettled in at The Bright Helm in West Street at around midday before they were escorted to Brighton Station through the rear entrance by officers, vans and mounted police. Police dogs were also seen in the city centre.
