Ezequiel Schelotto had a three-year spell at Brighton between 2017 and 2020. The right-back has now revealed details of his falling out with manager Graham Potter.

The defender had arrived from Sporting for around €3m, spending a loan at Chievo Verona later in the spell.

This was Schelotto’s only career time in England, as his best came at Atalanta, Cesena and Sporting. His career had a fair share of controversies along the way and the full-back always came with a bit of a reputation.

The Argentine has spoken to Gazzetta dello Sport and revealed the details of why he left Brighton.

Schelotto fell out with Potter

Speaking with Italy’s pink daily, Schelotto was asked about instances of when he fell out with former managers.

Particularly, he focused on his relationship with Potter, who dropped him regularly at Brighton.

Schelotto said, disclosing how he never enjoyed the Englishman’s approach: In the Premier League, however, I had a falling out with Potter. I played at home, never away. One formation at home, another away. So after a win against Arsenal, I asked him why, and he dropped me for a couple of weeks.”
