Asmir Begovic believes he is filling the boots of the best goalkeeper in the Championship, as he prepares for his full Leicester City debut.

The 38-year-old was one of two goalkeepers recruited by the Foxes since last season with Fran Vieites arriving as a free agent a couple of months ago.

The former Real Betis glovesman is yet to make a match-day squad, but with Jakub Stolarczyk out for several weeks with a groin injury, it seems likely that Begovic will be the one to fill in.

The former Stoke, Bournemouth and QPR 'keeper - where he worked with Marti Cifuentes - came off the bench in midweek as Stolarczyk was replaced at half-time.

He showed his experience by saving a one-on-one with Middlesbrough's Tommy Conway but could not stop Boro grabbing a late equaliser deep into injury time.

All of which leaves him as the expected No. 1 at Norwich City this weekend and relishing the chance.
