SWANSEA City boss Alan Sheehan insisted his players cannot underestimate Saints when they face the south coast side at St Mary's on Saturday.

Swansea currently sit five places and one point higher than Southampton in the Championship, having earned 12 points from their first nine games.

Sheehan, who was appointed permanently in the summer, is expecting a "very difficult game" despite Southampton's lacklustre start to the season.

Will Still's side have not won at home since their dramatic 2-1 victory over Welsh club Wrexham on the opening day.

“Southampton are another team with a new manager who are transitioning into a way that they want to play," he told the media ahead of this weekend's game.

“It will be a very difficult game away at St Mary’s against a team that was in the Premier League last year.
