Swansea City marked their return to Championship action by battling their way to a point at Southampton.

The Swans offered very little attacking threat for much of the game at St Mary's, in a contest the hosts largely dominated.

Leo Scienza and Caspar Jander struck the post either side of half-time, as the hosts created an avalanche of opportunities that on another day would have surely seen them run out comfortable winners.

But the visitors somehow held on to claim their third clean sheet of the season.

Swansea will certainly be happier with a point, and their defensive resilience might well be seen as a positive for boss Alan Sheehan.
