Liverpool have been made to question their decision to sell Luis Diaz this summer, after seeing the Colombian hit the ground running with Bayern Munich.

The Reds were unwilling to offer Diaz a new contract to stay at Anfield, and ultimately secured a fee of £65.5m to let him leave.

While this was roundly applauded as good business by Liverpool at the time, it has since been put in a different light by Diaz‘s success in Munich and the Reds’ current attacking struggles.

Daniel Sturridge claimed Liverpool miss Diaz after their most recent Premier League loss against Chelsea, while fans have started to wonder whether the 28-year-old should have stayed, too.

However, as journalist Graeme Bailey exclusively tells Rousing The Kop, Liverpool remain convinced that they made the right decision.

Had Liverpool kept Diaz this season, he would likely have continued playing as Arne Slot’s regular left-sided attacker.

However, having signed Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, who can both fill the same role, there would have been added competition for the former No. 7.
