Mohamed Salah has had a tough time of it this season with Liverpool fans calling for him to be axed by Arne Slot.

The attacker is one of the only players who has managed to keep his place in Liverpool’s starting XI after their recent poor form.

Many fans and pundits have said that the Egyptian’s form is becoming a concern for them, but after what he’s just done for Egypt against Djibouti, that doesn’t feel like it should be the case.

Salah bagged a brace in Egypt’s 3-0 win, which sealed their qualification to the 2026 World Cup.

And now, thanks to his double, Egyptian media have reacted to the performance of Liverpool’s star man.

Although Salah usually performs to a high standard for Liverpool, he’s easily Egypt’s best player.

Of course, they do have Omar Marmoush to help lead their attacking line, but more often than not, it always falls onto the shoulders of Salah.

Admittedly, the attacker hasn’t been his usual goal-scoring self for Liverpool in the 2025-26 season, but now that he’s got himself a brace, he may end up coming back to Anfield as a different player.
