At the start of the 2025-26 season, most fans, pundits and journalists all expected Liverpool to run away with the Premier League title.

And, while they may be second in the Premier League table for now, that doesn’t mean that they’re guaranteed to stay there.

Their last three games have all ended in defeats, with Liverpool’s areas of weakness seeming to get exposed.

This has resulted in a few pundits backtracking on what they initially said about Liverpool’s chances, with Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer now believing that Arsenal will be the ones to win the top-flight title.

Arsenal and Liverpool were the two biggest spenders during the 2025-26 summer transfer window.

This came as a surprise to many, especially since they were both at the top of the table for an extended period of time.

In the end, Liverpool were the ones who came out on top with Arsenal finishing in second place for the third year in a row.

Many thought that the same would be happening in the 2025-26 season, but now that the Anfield outfit have gone through a bit of a rough patch, it seems like most are changing their minds....
