Lamare Bogarde has convinced Unai Emery, hence the chances he is now being given by the Aston Villa manager.

That’s according to journalist Süleyman Öztürk, via Voetbal International, who believes the defender is clearly developing quickly under the Spaniard.

Bogarde is pretty much a product of Aston Villa’s youth academy at this point after joining them from Feyenoord in 2020.

The 21-year-old has worked his way up, playing for the U18s and U23s as well as going out on loan to Bristol Rovers at one point.

He was moved into the Aston Villa first team last season and handed his Premier League debut by Emery in a 2-1 win over Leicester City in August. Bogarde was also handed a Champions League debut the following month in a win over Young Boys.

The Dutchman appears to be in Emery’s favour and has already made eight appearances in all competitions this season. That includes three starts in seven in the Premier League. In comparison, he made 18 appearances in all competitions last season.
