Multiple Premier League clubs have been linked with Yeremay Hernández over the past year. However, it appears it was Aston Villa who actually tried to sign him.

In the January window, claims from Spain stated Arsenal, Bournemouth, Brentford, Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest were all following Deportivo de La Coruña’s rising star.

Yeremay is 22-years-of-age and left the Real Madrid system in 2017 to try his luck at Deportivo de La Coruña. That’s worked out quite well for the youngster and his progress has attracted interest from elsewhere.

That includes from Aston Villa, with Monchi happy to confirm that to the Spanish media. The transfer guru recently left the Premier League club but he’s staying on as an advisor to Aston Villa’s owners.

Deportivo are in LaLiga2 and Yeremay has three goals from his first eight matches of the season, playing as a left winger.

Officials from Deportivo visited Aston Villa in the summer, and Monchi brought signing Yeremay into the conversation.
