Jeremie Frimpong has not been able to hit the ground running as expected for Liverpool.

The 24-year-old was signed by the Reds over the summer for £29.5 million following a rebuild of the squad after Arne Slot’s Premier League title-winning first season as manager.

While he is a brilliant talent for the club to sign in the right back position, Frimpong has not had the start expected by fans, with the beginning of his season delayed by an injury in the opening game against Bournemouth.

Since his return from the hamstring injury, the Dutchman has been used sparingly and has impressed in some performances but has been disappointing in a few recent starts and appearances for the club.

However, like his fellow summer signings, he just needs some time to adjust to the pace and physicality of the league after spending the majority of his senior career in the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen.

The right-back was accompanied in the summer by two new striker options for Liverpool, with Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak the two attacking talents Slot wanted in the team.
