Liverpool suffered a minor setback on Tuesday as they were beaten 1-0 by Galatasaray in their Champions League clash.

Going into the competition, the reigning Premier League champions were the favourites to come away with the cup, but at the moment, it feels like that’s going to be close to impossible.

Indeed, the Reds have spent over £400million strengthening their first-team squad, but at the moment, it all seems rather dysfunctional.

Several of Arne Slot’s big-name additions have failed to live up to expectations, with Florian Wirtz being one of the biggest culprits.

The young German was expected to be the answer that Liverpool were looking for with their creativity issues last term, but at the moment, that’s far from the case.

That is, according to most people, at least.

Wirtz may only have one goal contribution to his name after joining Liverpool in the summer, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t creating anything.

Although he’s received no recognition for the work he puts in, you can tell that he just needs that first goal to get him over the line, and then he could be unleashed.
