Report: Girona and Leganes interested in signing Boro's Braithwaite

Girona and Leganes are reportedly interested in signing Martin Braithwaite and Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis would be open to selling the forward.

La Liga duo Girona and Leganes have both identified Martin Braithwaite of Middlesbrough as a potential transfer target, according to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo.

Both clubs want to add some attacking support to their respective squads ahead of the transfer window closing on Friday (August 31) and view Braithwaite as the ideal player to fill the void.

Girona are about to sign Seydou Doumbia, but also want the Denmark international due to his versatility and ability to play in a variety of offensive roles.

It is believed that Boro manager Tony Pulis would be open to allowing Braithwaite to leave if the £7.25m valuation the Championship club have placed on the forward is met.

This is despite the fact that the 27-year-old has made a fine start to the new season, scoring three goals in five games, and has received praise from Pulis as a result.

Braithwaite arrived at the Riverside from Toulouse last summer, but struggled to assert himself in England and was loaned back to Ligue 1 and Bordeaux in January where the Dane scored four times in 14 appearances.
