Across State Lines: Dwyer Signs in Oakland

Former Sporting Kansas City forward, Dom Dwyer has signed with a new club for the 2024 season as he’s signed with USL Championship side, the Oakland Roots. KC’s second all time leading scorer had been without a club since he was waived by Atlanta United in January of 2023. Dwyer will join the USL for the first time since he was on loan to Orlando City from Sporting in the 2013 season.

Another former Kansas City player has also signed with a new club in a way. Former Sporting KC II goalkeeper, Ethan Bandre has earned a contract with the Colorado Rapids’ first team. He’d started the season with Colorado’s MLS Next Pro side but with Rapids’ goalkeeper Adam Beaudry going on a training stint in Europe, Colorado needed another goalkeeper to back up Zack Steffen.

Here’s the rest of this week’s update.
