Tottenham Transfer News: Giovani Lo Celso eyeing Real Betis move

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is open to a return to Real Betis.

Giovani Lo Celso’s big-money move to Tottenham Hotspur hasn’t really worked out for either parties and the 28-year-old has failed to establish himself as a mainstay at the club.

The Argentine international is not happy with the lack of game time at the English club and he is considering parting ways in the summer. Lo Celso is ‘willing’ to make a return to Real Betis and has been in contact with the Spanish club’s leaders as per a report by Estadio Deportivo.

In the ongoing season, the Argentine attacking midfielder has featured in just 19 matches and he has racked up less than 600 minutes of first-team football. The 28-year-old is way down the pecking order under Ange Postecoglou and he is frustrated with the lack of opportunities.

Lo Celso is expected to push for a move away in the summer. With his contract running out in the summer of 2025, the North London club will most likely look to cash in on him rather than lose out on him for free in 12 month’s time.

Meanwhile, Real Betis are quite keen on re-signing him. They feel he could be an ideal replacement for Nabil Fekir who has been linked with a move away from the club. They feel the 28-year-old could easily fit into their system and his versatility could be a huge boost for them.

More importantly, the desire of the player to return to his former club will be a major boost for Real Betis in their transfer pursuit. It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can agree on a reasonable fee now.
