Darwin Nunez spotted with Barcelona star Ronaldo Araujo

Darwin Nunez has shared a snap posing with a Barcelona star as uncertainty continues over his Liverpool future.

Nunez has appeared frustrated with his spell at the Reds in recent times, storming off the field at Anfield at full time of his side's 4-2 win over Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.

He later deleted all Liverpool-related content from his Instagram page in a puzzling act on the back of an important win for his team.

While the reasons for his frustrations remain unclear, he has been linked with a move away from the club just two years into a spell that has been riddles with unfulfilled potential since his £85million move from Benfica.

He continued to stir rumours on Tuesday, meanwhile, as he posed alongside Barcelona's Ronald Araujo on his still-Liverpool-less Instagram.

He captioned the photo: 'TQM hermano,' which is a phrase close to 'I love you brother' in Spanish.

Nunez has been linked with a move to Barcelona as a summer Anfield exit looks ever more likely, with the Spanish club reportedly earmarking him as a potential replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

35-year-old Lewandowski still has two years remaining on his current deal, but Barca look set to attempt to offload him in the summer to ensure they comply with a £175m salary cap imposed by LaLiga earlier this season.

According to The Sun, Barca feel like Nunez is capable of taking on the mantle and are prepared to meet Liverpool's asking price for the Uruguay forward.

Nunez is one of the best-paid players at Anfield but his wages - reported to be around £140,000-a-week - would still be significantly lower than what Lewandowski is currently earning.

Reports earlier this month suggested Liverpool's recruitment team were not keen on signing the former Benfica star and instead favoured a move for Christopher Nkunku, with Jurgen Klopp eventually convincing them to consent to a club-record £85m deal.

Mail Sport's Ian Ladyman, meanwhile, questioned Nunez's recent antics on It's All Kicking Off!

He said: 'I can't think for one minute why he would be dissatisfied with life at Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp has supported him throughout his first couple of seasons. A couple of seasons where you and I have spent a lot of time talking about him.

'I'm a huge fan of his. I think you [co-host Chris Sutton] rate him as well. He has clear deficiencies in his game that we know. He hits the frame with a goal, the post and the bar with more power and venom than any other player we've ever seen.

'But despite it all, Klopp has stood by him, he's kept picking him, he's been given his opportunities, so if he's p***** off with Liverpool, I cannot think for one minute why that would be.'
