Report: Barcelona player's representatives have contacted Tottenham and Chelsea

TBR Football have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have been alerted to the potential availability of Barcelona starlet Vitor Roque ahead of the summer transfer window.

Roque was one of the most coveted young players in South America last summer and it was Barcelona who won the race for the striker, signing him from Athletico Paranaense.

As per the agreement, the teenager spent the rest of the season at the Brazilian club before making the move to Camp Nou in January.

However, things have not gone smoothly for the youngster at Barca as he has only started twice for the La Liga giants so far in his five months at the club (Transfermarkt).

A couple of days ago, Fabrizio Romano said on his YouTube channel that the youngster might be on his way out of Barca this summer and revealed that Tottenham tried their best to hijack the Catalan club’s deal for the player last summer.

TBR Football have now revealed that a number of Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham, have been alerted about Roque’s availability by his representatives.

It is said that the striker’s entourage have also conveyed to the likes of Liverpool, Aston Villa, Newcastle, West Ham and Brighton that the 19-year-old might be on the market.

The report says that Barca would be open to loaning out the Brazil international this summer, but Roque’s agent, Andre Cury, has insisted that the player will not leave on loan and would prefer a permanent transfer.

Cury is quoted by the publication as saying: “We don’t want a loan. If the club decides he can’t stay, he’ll be sold. There are many teams interested in Vitor Roque. If the club doesn’t give Vitor space, we’ll have to look at a solution. Either he stays or he leaves in a transfer, not a loan.

“If he goes to another team that doesn’t own him, it’s very dangerous for the boy’s career. The best thing would be to stay at Barca, but if he can’t stay we will work for a transfer.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Given that Tottenham showed concrete interest in Roque last summer, one would certainly expect the North London side to keep a close eye on the teenager’s situation over the coming weeks.

I would be surprised if Barca let the youngster go so soon after his arrival but given their current financial situation, it cannot be completely ruled out.
