Rangers winger Oscar Cortes has joined Argentinian side Huracan on loan after his Sporting Gijon spell was ended prematurely.

After joining the Spanish second tier side in the summer, the 22-year-old was unable to secure the regular first-team football he was in search of. It emerged in recent weeks Huracan were keen to take him on loan instead.

Despite the fact Cortes has already turned out for two clubs this season, he is allowed to play for a third because the Argentinian campaign runs to a different calendar, due to kick off this month.

The move back to South America, for the duration of 2026, for the Colombian has now been confirmed, and it has been confirmed there is an option to buy included.

A Rangers statement said: "We can today confirm that Oscar Cortes has been recalled from his loan with Sporting Gijon and will now join Argentine side Huracan on loan for their 2026 season with an option to buy. Everyone at Rangers wishes Oscar well for the year ahead."
