The Welshman had been at hometown club Cardiff for his full career, playing over 200 games, before Neil Lennon persuaded him to head to Glasgow when his contract came to an end in 2010.

However, it was while prior to that when Ally McCoist sw him scoring AGAINST Celtic in pre-season for the Bluebirds.

There was interest shown at that point but it never progressed and he would end up moving to the other side of Glasgow further down the line.

Lennon played a huge part in that, as did the size of the club and the chance to play Champions League football.
