Former Rangers commercial director, Karim Virani, has joined the board at non-league club, Hashtag United.

The Isthmian League Premier Division team, created in 2016 by YouTuber Spencer Carmichael-Brown, also has former Chelsea defender, Cesar Azpilicueta, as a co-owner.

Hashtag United joined the English football pyramid in 2018 and have since climbed to the Isthmian Premier Division after three promotions.

He left Rangers in February 2025 after a year and a half with the club, and has now officially announced his involvement with Hashtag United.

Virani said: "Delighted to announce that I’ve joined the board of Hashtag United at an incredible juncture in the club’s evolution.

"Over the summer, I explored a number of opportunities to join football club boards.

"Hashtag United always stood out as the right choice for me, both logically and emotionally."

He explains that the club has always been close to his heart as he started out as a fan of Spencer FC.
