Rangers have expressed outrage over the mocking of the Ibrox Disaster by a group of Aberdeen supporters.

The behaviour was observed after a match at Pittodrie, which Rangers won 2-0.

Footage showed individuals in the home section of the ground signalling gestures towards the Rangers fans.

One supporter was seen holding up his phone displaying the number 71, pointing to the 1971 tragedy that resulted in 66 fatalities and over 200 injuries.

Others performed dive gestures, believed to reference the fans who tragically fell down the stairway during the Old Firm match.

Rangers are expecting "decisive action" to be taken over this mocking.

The club has now responded to the actions and wants the relevant authorities to thoroughly investigate and handle those responsible accordingly.

A club spokesperson said: "We are appalled that once again opposition supporters have mocked the Ibrox Disaster, the darkest day in our history.

"Such behaviour is abhorrent and has previously resulted in a criminal conviction, underlining the seriousness of this issue.
