A former Ibrox coach believes Rangers and their incoming signing are a "perfect match."

Issame Charai, now head coach at Belgian side Westerlo, said 22-year-old left-back Tuur Rommens is the perfect fit for Rangers.

Charai has high praise for the player he managed for seven months.

Rommens is believed to be signing for the club in a deal worth around £3.5million.

He described Rommens as a physically strong player who relishes challenges, making him the ideal candidate for Rangers.

He said: "Personally, he’s a perfect fit for Rangers.

"A player who’s physically strong, gets his shirt wet, isn’t afraid of challenges, and likes to go down the line."

Charai believes the fan base is sure to develop a fondness for Rommens because of his grit and determination on the field.

He added: "The fans will love him, and I expect they’ll be coming up with a song for him soon.

"It’s simply a perfect match."
