Danny Rohl will have to use Tochi Chukwuani a lot sooner than he may have expected at Rangers.

Chukwuani is on the verge of joining Rangers ahead of a £4million move from Austrian side Strum Graz.

The Dane will join Tuur Rommens, who is also expected to complete a move to the Bears after a deal was agreed with Belgian Pro League outfit, KVC Westerlo.

Rohl wanted to get a midfielder in the January transfer window, but the importance of Chukwuani‘s arrival has now only been heightened.

Rangers beat Aberdeen 2-0 at Ibrox last time out in the Scottish Premiership, but Connor Barron found himself hobbling off the field before full-time.

The Scot had a magnificent game, providing two assists for both of Rangers’ goals, and his injury scare will have concerned many.

There have already been suggestions that Chukwuani could replace Barron, and that now looks to be a reality.

According to Keith Jackson for the Daily Record on Thursday, Rangers will now be without Barron for the foreseeable future, with the midfielder ruled out until March at the least due to a knee injury.
