Rangers could be about to benefit from Neil McCann and Billy Dodds’ appointments at Kilmarnock.

McCann and Dodds, who were part of Barry Ferguson’s caretaker coaching staff at Ibrox last season, have taken over as manager and assistant manager at Kilmarnock respectively.

Dodds was recently bigging up Jayden Meghoma for Rangers while working as a pundit, but it is a different Gers player he could soon be linking up with.

And in the view of player-turned-pundit Derek Ferguson, the pair could use their Rangers links to their advantage – and indeed the Gers’ advantage.

Tuur Rommens is one of many to have been linked with a move to Rangers in the winter window, but outgoings are expected as well.

There are two players in particular Rangers could do with getting off their books, albeit on a temporary basis.

Lyall Cameron and Findlay Curtis are struggling for Rangers minutes, with Danny Rohl seemingly not fancying the pair.

Ferguson believes the appointment of McCann and Dodds at Kilmarnock could now lead to the duo being asked to move to Rugby Park.
