Eddie Howe said this morning Gordon is a doubt for Newcastle's game against Brentford on Sunday and while United's head coach doesn't think the winger's injury is serious, he is set to have a scan. Newcastle will then liaise with England and a decision will be made on Gordon's involvement.

There's also good news for Middlesbrough in Tuchel's latest selection, with Djed Spence again called up.

As revealed by the Northern Echo last month, one more competitive England start for Spence will trigger a payment from Tottenham as part of the £20m deal that took the right-back from the Riverside to Spurs in 2022.
