Another Premier League club are now ready to challenge Tottenham Hotspur for Porto striker Samu Aghehowa in January.

Over the last month, Spurs Web has been keeping a close track on the speculation linking Aghehowa with a move to N17, which has continued to intensify.

It has been claimed by some sources that Fabio Paratici will spearhead Tottenham’s pursuit of the Porto man in the upcoming transfer window.

Aghehowa has a £87m release clause in his contract, but it emerged last week that Spurs can sign the Spain international for less than £70m in January.

Over the last few weeks, we have been hearing that Chelsea may be Tottenham’s biggest challengers in the race for Aghehowa, but another Premier League side have now seemingly entered the race.

According to Football Insider, Newcastle United are now monitoring the progress of the 21-year-old, whose stellar form has brought him to their attention.

The outlet claims that Eddie Howe is keen to bolster his forward line in January and has identified the Porto man as a target.
