Creating chances has “been our problem for the last couple of seasons”, Leicester City midfielder Harry Winks has admitted, with limited opportunities fashioned again on Tuesday night.

City had just six shots against Middlesbrough as they struggled to create, especially from open play.

They did get on the scoresheet, but only from the penalty spot, and that’s the only time they’ve found the net in their past three matches.

While only three sides have had more shots than City, they rank 14th in the division for expected goals. In short, they’re having more low-quality chances than their rivals.

For Winks, it’s not just a problem for this season. He said before the draw with Boro, in the matchday programme: “Yes, I think that (creating chances) has probably been our problem the last couple of seasons now.
