Sat in the front row of the David Preece Stand, on Friday night, alongside the wife, I was asked a delicate question.
With the Luton Town squad warming up, readying themselves for the FA Cup 1st round tie against the National League side, Forest Green Rovers, she leaned over and whispered something in my ear.
Well, I assumed it was a whisper as my hearing, especially in my left ear, is poor.
Not knowing what she had asked and offering no response, her volume increased and I understood the question perfectly.
Watching the antics of our club mascots, Harry and Hatty, she explained that after watching the duo several times, she was convinced that both of those inside the costumes were, in fact males.
Intrigued by her comments and, apparently, her observations throughout the season, I asked how she had come to that conclusion.
She then went on to give me a detailed explanation as to how her ‘gait’ made her think Hatty was, in fact, a male inside the outfit!
Now I know with all that is going on in the world today it isn’t an all-consuming question, but it has puzzled me ever since.
