It’s been a week since Rodgers left this club, shocking us all.

There’s a theory doing the rounds on the Celtic fan forums right now. It’s a little bit ludicrous, sure — but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t talk about it. In fact, there are two ways to look at it. One of them is frankly preposterous. The other one? Maybe not. And that’s why the discussion is worth having.

Because we wouldn’t be normal, we wouldn’t be thinking clearly, if we weren’t asking questions about how this side can look so radically different from the one Rodgers had, especially with much of the same personnel.

You’d be silly not to wonder why O’Neill gave games to players like Osmond and trusted him to become a match-winner in a cup semi-final, when Rodgers didn’t even trust him in early League Cup ties against weaker opposition.

Some fans are asking — and I stress asking, not asserting — whether Brendan Rodgers deliberately sabotaged his own team.
