Celtic captain Callum McGregor believes Johnny Kenny and Callum Osmand can ‘conquer the world’ after their Hampden heroics against Rangers on Sunday.

Kenny, 22, scored with a header to put Celtic 1-0 up midway through the first half, with his brace against Falkirk last week making it three goals in two games since Martin O’Neill took charge.

In only his second senior appearance, 19-year-old Osmand wrapped up the victory for Celtic when he scored to make it 3-1 in extra-time.

Both young strikers had been cast to the periphery under Brendan Rodgers, but have now been given a new lease of life under O’Neill.

McGregor, who struck from distance to put his team 2-1 up in extra-time, believes both players can go all the way to the top now they have finally been given an opportunity.

‘It’s always an opportunity for every player when they come in,’ said the Celtic skipper. ‘They’re working so, so hard to develop and get to the level with the first-team boys.
