Rangers' fixture against Hibs has been rescheduled.

The game, originally set for December 14, will now take place on December 15.

This change avoids a clash with the Premier Sports Cup final, which was set to cause a "fixture headache".

The league chiefs had to make this adjustment as the original date coincided with the League Cup final, featuring Celtic and St Mirren.

The showpiece event, which Rangers missed out on after a semi-final defeat, is scheduled for a 3.30pm kick-off.

This would have clashed with the Ibrox league fixture, which was set for the same day at 3pm.

It was deemed unfeasible for both Old Firm clubs to play in Glasgow on the same day, hence the necessary change.

The SPFL has confirmed that Rangers' match against Hibs will now be played on the evening of December 15.

The match will kick off at 7.45pm.

Moving the game to the previous Saturday was not an option because of Rangers' commitment in the Europa League.
